BEYOND ORGANIC

A Cleaner Standard
Than Organic Allows.

A lot of folks figure organic means no pesticides. It doesn’t. Organic rules still allow certain approved pesticides. On our family farm in Hilliard, Florida, we keep it simpler: no pesticides at all, organic or synthetic, anywhere on our 25 acres.

Beyond Organic is our own farm standard. It isn’t a USDA certification.

🐝

We skip the pesticides instead of swapping them.

Instead of trading synthetic sprays for organic ones, we lean on prevention, keeping a close eye on things, keeping everything clean, and good crop and pasture management.

Zero organic pesticides Zero synthetic pesticides All 25 acres Farm grown

OUR STANDARD

Simple words. Specific practices.

Beyond Organic isn’t a fancy label. It just tells you what we do and don’t use.

0

Zero Organic Pesticides

Just because a spray is on the approved organic list doesn’t mean we use it. We don’t.

0

Zero Synthetic Pesticides

None on our microgreens, none on the pasture, and none anywhere else on the farm.

One Farm From Start to Finish

Our hens lay here, our roasters are raised here, and our microgreens are grown, freeze-dried, milled and packed here.

ALL 25 ACRES

Same standard for everything we sell.

🥚

Pasture-Raised Eggs

Our Rhode Island Reds roam 20 acres of pesticide-free pasture, and we move their coop to fresh ground every day. On top of what they find, they get certified organic, non-GMO feed.

🐔

Cornish Cross Roasters

Our roasters are raised over that same pasture, in coops that keep them out in the sun and up off the wet ground. They eat certified organic, non-GMO feed too.

ORGANIC VS. BEYOND ORGANIC

Where our standard goes further.

Organic certification can be a good thing. It just doesn’t always mean what people think. Here’s how our standard lines up.

What to compare Organic production may allow Noah’s Dove Farm standard
Pesticide use Certain approved organic pesticides Zero organic pesticides
Synthetic pesticides Generally restricted or prohibited under organic rules Zero synthetic pesticides
Growing standard Compliance with an established certification framework Elimination of both organic and synthetic pesticides
Sourcing May involve multiple farms or suppliers Grown and raised on our own farm
Processing May be handled by a separate processor Done right here on our farm
Customer traceability Depends on the company and supply chain The farm on the label is the farm that grew or raised it

Organic rules and what they allow can vary by crop and use. This just explains our own standard. It doesn’t mean every organic farm uses pesticides.

WHY IT MATTERS

You should be able to just ask.

Food labels can sound good and still leave you guessing. We’d rather just tell you what we use, what we don’t, and who grew it.

We’re not trying to squeak by on a label. We grow and raise food the way we’d want it for our own family.

Questions worth asking any food brand

  • Did your company actually grow or raise this?
  • Were any organic pesticides used?
  • Were any synthetic pesticides used?
  • Was processing outsourced?
  • Is this whole food, an extract, or a formulated blend?
  • Can the company clearly explain where the ingredients came from?

HOW WE DO IT

Prevention starts before a problem appears.

Going without pesticides means staying ahead of problems, not reaching for a spray after one shows up.

1

Keep It Clean

Growing areas, trays, equipment and work surfaces stay clean and organized.

2

Watch Closely

We check our crops regularly so small problems get caught early.

3

Grow With Care

Watering, seeding density, airflow and harvest timing get adjusted as needed.

4

Fresh Ground Daily

We move the hens’ coop to a new spot every day, so they’re always stepping out onto fresh grass.

5

Remove, Don’t Spray

When a crop doesn’t meet our standard, we’d rather pull it than spray it.

QUESTIONS

Things people ask about Beyond Organic

Is Beyond Organic a USDA certification?

No. It’s our own farm standard, not a USDA certification, and it isn’t a stand-in for USDA Organic.

Are you certified organic?

No, and I’d rather be straight with you about that. We hold ourselves to Beyond Organic instead: no pesticides of any kind, anywhere on the farm.

Do you use any pesticides at all?

None. Not organic, not synthetic, and not anywhere on our 25 acres, including the pasture where our hens and roasters live.

Are your eggs and chickens Beyond Organic too?

Yes. Same farm, same standard. Our hens roam pesticide-free pasture and get certified organic, non-GMO feed, and our roasters are raised over that same pasture on the same kind of feed.

Are organic pesticides still pesticides?

Yes. Calling a pesticide organic tells you how it’s classified or what organic rules allow. It’s still a pesticide.

Does every organic farm use pesticides?

No. Organic rules allow certain pesticides, but plenty of farms choose not to use them. We’re just telling you what we do.

What happens when a crop has a problem?

We try to stay ahead of it. And if a crop doesn’t meet our standard, we’d rather pull it than spray it.

Is anything added to the powders?

No. Each pouch is just the one microgreen named on it.
